WHAT IS LCOY?

LCOY or the Local Conference of Youth is an event organized under the umbrella of YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. It is held in the run-up to the Conference of Parties.

LCOY IN ARMENIA

In 2023, UWC Dilijan received authorization to organize the first-ever Local Conference of Youth in Armenia. The successful event brought together 80 local and international participants aged 14-18. There were representatives from about 10 countries.

WHY ATTEND LCOY?

  • Participants will hear from experts representing UNDP, government and other international and local organisations at the forefront of climate change advocacy and environmental science.

  • The programme includes a panel discussion on various environmental topics, workshops, conversations and debates focused on Armenia's climate situation, making this event relevant for the local youth.

  • Attendees will gain insights from unpublished studies that will be shared for the first time during the LCOY, share best practices and ideas with a community of like-minded young people and collaborate on issuing the conference statement, host a workshop of your own.

The language of the conference will be English and Armenian, with simultaneous translation.

HOW TO ATTEND?

Click "Apply" at the top and fill in the Google form. Please make sure you provide all the necessary information and a correct email which we will use to contact you as needed.
